Lubrication Engineers Lubricants

High quality lubricants

Lubrication Engineers produces high quality lubricants in its own way, which are made from highly refined base oil and exclusive additives. They perform much better than conventional oils and greases in the most diverse applications. If the right advanced lubricant is chosen, this technology reduces friction and wear, allowing your equipment to use longer and more efficiently.

Four high-performance additives, which are being used in the lubricants:

  • Almasol

    Almasol

Almasol® is LE’s proprietary solid film additive originally developed for use in the late 1950s. This soft, tan powder has been incorporated into many of LE’s industrial lubricating oils and greases. The microscopic particles are so small it would take approximately 8,000 of them to cover the punctuation mark at the end of this sentence. So revolutionary in its development, a form of Almasol’s dry film technology has been used on every manned U.S. space flight until the retirement of the space shuttle program. Unlike molybdenum disulfide and other solids used in lubricants, Almasol will not build up on itself and adversely affect machine operaton with close tolerances or create hard deposits that create housekeeping issues. Unlike graphite – a commonly used solid lubricant – Almasol maintains its lubricity even under vacuum conditions. That’s why it functioned so well in space programs.

  • Monolec

    Monolec

Monolec® is LE’s proprietary liquid wear-reducing additive that creates a single molecular lubricating film on metal surfaces, vastly increasing oil film strength without affecting clearances. An invaluable component in many of LE’s engine oils, industrial oils and other lubricants, Monolec allows opposing metal surfaces to slide by one another, greatly reducing friction, heat and wear. The Monolec name is derived from “mono-molecular,” which describes how molecules form a single (mono) layer on surfaces to protect against metal-to-metal contact. The science behind this technology dates back to the World War II era, when many of the original research documents were marked as classified. Seeing value in this research, LE refined the technology for use in its high-performance lubricants.

  • Duolec

    Duolec

Duolec® dual-acting additive imparts synergistic properties to lubricants, providing both ant-wear (AW) and extreme pressure (EP) protection. The result of revolutionary technology designed specifically for use in LE gear lubricants, Duolec increases oil film strength and is temperature-activated to provide a protective layer that smooths metal surfaces and minimizes the effects of any contact, thereby reducing friction and preventing surface wear.

  • Quinplex

    Quinplex

Quinplex® is a unique polymer that LE uses in several of its lubricant formulations, predominantly its food grade greases. The name Quinplex is derived from the five principal characteristics this additive imparts to lubricants: tackiness, water resistance, cohesion, mechanical stability and corrosion resistance. Based on research originally done in Europe, the polymer’s beneficial properties – including its narrow-range molecular weight distribution – brought it to LE’s attention. LE adapted the new technology for lubrication, named it Quinplex and has been using it in select LE lubricants since 1974.
